What we ask of you, and what we promise.

So Many Rooms is operated by Light Connections SAS, identified in full on our legal notice. By using the service you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, do not use it.

You must be at least 16 years old to use So Many Rooms. We do not knowingly let younger people create or join meetings.

You do not need an account to join a meeting somebody invited you to. You choose a display name for that meeting; it does not have to be your legal name.

Hosting requires an account. As a host you decide who receives an invitation, and you are responsible for who you invite. You can lock a meeting, remove someone from it, and end it.

While the service is free, self-serve meetings have limits we enforce:

• Up to 8 participants in a meeting.
• Up to 10 meetings created per day.

These limits exist so that one person cannot exhaust the capacity everybody shares. They may change as the service grows, and we may raise them for a particular host who asks.

Do not use So Many Rooms to:

• harass, threaten, bully or intimidate anybody, or incite others to do so;
• share material that is illegal where you or your participants are, including content that sexualises children, incites violence or terrorism, or infringes somebody else’s rights;
• record, photograph or restream a meeting without the knowledge of the people in it;
• impersonate somebody else, or use a display name intended to deceive the room;
• send unsolicited advertising, or use meetings to distribute malware or run scams;
• attack the service — probing for vulnerabilities, overwhelming it, circumventing the limits above, or accessing meetings you were not invited to.

Genuine security research is welcome, but tell us first at contact@somanyrooms.com rather than testing against other people’s meetings.

A host can remove somebody from their own meeting. We can remove somebody from any meeting, end a meeting, or close an account, where these terms are broken or where we reasonably believe somebody is at risk. Where it is reasonable to do so we will say why.

Meetings also end by themselves. A meeting the host ends is over and cannot be restarted; one that empties out closes after ten minutes; one that is never started closes after an hour. Invitation links stop working when the meeting they belong to has ended.

If you believe something in a meeting breaks these terms or the law, write to contact@somanyrooms.com with enough detail to find it. We will look at every report and act where action is warranted.

Meetings are not recorded unless recording is deliberately switched on for that meeting. When it is, everybody is told before they settle in and has to agree, and recording stays visibly indicated while it runs. Declining offers you a way out instead of quietly starting the camera.

If you host a recorded meeting, the purpose you gave is the purpose you are bound by. Deciding later to publish something recorded as a private archive needs a fresh decision by the people in it, not the original agreement. The privacy notice explains how recordings are stored and who can reach them.

What you say, write and share in a meeting stays yours. We do not claim ownership of it and we do not use it to train anything or to advertise to you. We store it only as far as the privacy notice describes, in order to run the service.

The design, text and software of So Many Rooms belong to Light Connections SAS. You may use the service; that does not give you rights over it.

So Many Rooms is early software offered free of charge, and we are honest about what that means: we do not promise that it will be available when you need it, that a meeting will not drop, that video and audio will hold up on every network, or that data will never be lost. Do not use it as the only channel for something that cannot fail.

We may change, suspend or withdraw parts of the service, including the limits above. Where a change is material and we can foresee it, we will give notice.

We are responsible for our own faults, and we do not try to exclude that. But we are not responsible for what participants say or do to one another, for a meeting you chose to hold, or for indirect losses — lost business, lost opportunities, a conversation that did not happen — arising from the service being unavailable.

Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for gross negligence. If you are a consumer, your statutory rights under French and EU law are unaffected by anything written here.

We will update these terms as the service changes. The date below changes with them, and material changes will be announced rather than slipped in. Continuing to use So Many Rooms after a change means accepting it.

These terms are governed by French law. If you are a consumer you can bring proceedings in the courts of the country you live in, and you keep the right to use a consumer mediation service; otherwise the courts of France have jurisdiction.
